Believe in Ohio STEM Grant
LHS math teacher Seth Youngen has been awarded an Ohio Academy of Science Believe in Ohio Grant in the amount of $800 to promote STEM thinking in the Finance and Entrepreneurship course at LHS. Students will work as a team to identify a problem, brainstorm a solution for that problem using STEM concepts, and then as entrepreneurs develop a STEM Commercialization or STEM Business plan to implement their solution.
Believe in Ohio is a competitive program with the goal of developing Ohio's next generation of innovators. Contests are held at the local, regional and state levels. Additionally, high school students can receive cash awards and scholarships to Ohio colleges and universities. Both the Ohio Board of Regents and the Ohio General Assembly support this program.
