The Ohio Auditor of State’s Office honored the Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District (LPEVS) with the Auditor of State Award. This distinction places LPEVS among the top 10% of the more than 6,000 audited entities statewide, including cities, villages, townships, and school districts.
Tina Ludwig is the Northeast Ohio Liaison for Ohio Auditor of State Keith Faber and presented the award on his behalf at the LPEVS Board of Education meeting on September 8.
“This award represents the hard work of all the staff and employees who make every effort each day to attain accounting excellence,” Ludwig said. “We’d like to recognize the Board, Administration, and Finance Department that have done an outstanding job watching over every dollar. What this truly means is that across the entire organization, you have the people and processes in place that understand fiscal accountability. I especially want to recognize Treasurer Christine Angerer for her outstanding leadership and commitment to fiscal integrity.”
In order to qualify for this award, an organization must receive a “clean” audit report, meaning it met the Ohio Auditor of State’s criteria for demonstrating fiscal and ethical responsibility and transparency. This includes filing financial reports on time, following accounting standards, and showing that the audit found no major issues such as bookkeeping errors, weak internal controls, misuse of funds, or problems with public records or compliance.
“I am proud of our Treasury Department’s longstanding commitment to fiscal responsibility and stewardship,” noted LPEVS Superintendent Jennifer Allerding. “This recognition shows the dedication of our treasurer and her team to strong financial management, while prioritizing student success and our mission to provide a safe and challenging educational environment where all students have the opportunity to reach their highest potential.”
