Join us for a special preview of a Rachel's Challenge Presentation

The Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District is pleased to invite all community members to a special presentation of Rachel’s Challenge on Wednesday, November 12, at 6 p.m. in the Budd Auditorium. The event is part of the district's new Hope Squad initiative, which aims to promote a culture of kindness, connection, and safety for students.

This fall, the district launched the Hope Squad, a peer-to-peer program for students in grades 4-12 focused on building genuine connections and encouraging students to speak up about important issues like bullying and suicide prevention. As one of their first major initiatives, Hope Squad members are introducing the nationally recognized Rachel’s Challenge program to the district to share its powerful message with students and the wider community.

Rachel’s Challenge is a nationwide program established in memory of the Columbine High School tragedy, honoring Rachel Scott and the other lives lost that day. After her passing, Rachel’s family discovered journals, writings, and countless stories from people whose lives she had touched through simple, genuine acts of kindness. The program is based on her life and writings, which call for a chain reaction of kindness and compassion. It has since become a transformative force in schools and communities nationwide, inspiring positive change and fostering more inclusive environments. Throughout the week, students will participate in assemblies designed to equip them with practical ways to build a more supportive school culture.

The evening presentation on November 12 offers parents, guardians, and community members an opportunity to experience the same inspiring message of hope and connection that students will receive. The district encourages everyone to attend and learn more about how small acts of kindness can create a significant, positive impact.
