The Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District presented the results of its recent community survey during a Board of Education work session held on the evening of September 22, 2025. The survey, completed this fall, gathered input from parents, staff, students, and community members regarding priorities for the district's future.
The purpose of the survey was to better understand community perspectives on academics, facilities, extracurricular opportunities, safety, and communication. Superintendent Jennifer Allerding said the results will play a key role in shaping future discussions.
“We are grateful to everyone who took the time to share their thoughts,” Allerding said. “The feedback highlights the strengths we should continue to build on and the challenges we must address together. This input will guide important decisions in the months ahead.”
During the Board work session, Superintendent Allerding highlighted the following key findings:
Strengths: Respondents highlighted the dedication of staff, strong academic programs, community pride, extracurricular opportunities, and improvements in communication.
Areas for Improvement: Feedback emphasized the need to improve facilities, expand course offerings, address safety and bullying concerns, and strengthen transparency and trust.
Facilities: Opinions were mixed on the future of district buildings, with some supporting new construction, others favoring renovations, and many noting the importance of addressing safety, accessibility, and educational standards.
Communication: While many noted progress, others expressed a desire for greater transparency, more balanced messaging, and additional outreach efforts to the wider community.
The district will continue engaging the community through additional meetings, individual “listen and learn” sessions, and future parent engagement surveys. The Board will have future conversations about finance and facilities planning, with opportunities for families and residents to stay involved throughout the process.
“Our mission is to provide a safe and academically challenging educational environment where every student can reach their highest potential,” Allerding added. “We are committed to listening, learning, and working together with our community to make the best decisions for the future of our schools.”
