Earlier this week, we highlighted Centegix and how, combined with our Loudonville Police Department partnership, these tools help strengthen our district's commitment to creating a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.

A big part of that partnership is the leadership of the LPD police chief! During National Safety Month, we want to thank former Loudonville Chief of Police Brian McCauley and current Chief of Police Sean Gorrell for their continued commitment to keeping our students, staff, and schools safe.

We are grateful for their leadership, collaboration, and dedication to our school community. It is partnerships like this one that make LP a safer place for everyone. Thank you for all you do!

As a school district, we are always focused on safety, and National Safety Month is a great opportunity to remind our families about recent updates and improvements we've made with student and staff safety in mind. From creating the visitor vestibule at McMullen last summer and the installation of new technology like Centegix in 2024, to programming opportunities like Rachel's Challenge and the Hope Squad, we continue to adjust and adapt in order to improve the safety of our school community.

What exactly is Centegix? It is a wearable crisis alert system that allows staff to quickly request assistance during emergencies or urgent situations with the push of a button. The system helps provide faster communication and response times, giving staff an added layer of support when every second matters.

Tools like Centegix, combined with our partnership with Loudonville Police Department, help strengthen our district's commitment to creating a safe, secure, and supportive learning environment for all students and staff.
