The plow is complete!
Loudonville High School’s Art 3 and Art 4 classes had the opportunity to participate in the Ohio Department of Transportation’s (ODOT) Paint-the-Plow program, a community outreach and safety initiative that invites K-12 students and vocational schools to transform real snowplow blades into unique works of art.
Over the past four weeks, students dedicated their time and creativity to designing and painting original artwork for this special project. The program provides students with an opportunity to showcase their artistic talents, connect with their community and promote awareness of winter road safety.
For their design, Loudonville students chose to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary, incorporating patriotic imagery to recognize this historic milestone. They also included a covered bridge to highlight the natural beauty and local significance of Mohican State Park.
Before entering active winter service, the painted plow will be displayed at area community events, giving residents an opportunity to see the students’ artwork and celebrate their creativity and community pride.
Through this project, students were able to combine creativity, history, and community pride in a meaningful way. Their finished artwork represents not only their hard work and artistic abilities but also their appreciation for our country and the local area they call home.

Join us for Community Band Night with the LHS Marching Band on October 30th from 7:00-8:00 pm at Redbird Stadium! Come out and support our Redbird musicians as they perform their pregame and four halftime shows.

Last week, five of our FFA members attended the 99th National FFA Convention and Expo in Indianapolis!
The trip started on Wednesday with a visit to the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory and the Convention Center. On Thursday, our members attended the Opening Session, explored the Career and College Expo, and ended the evening at the Buckeye Bash. Friday included the 4th General Session, the expo and shopping center, and an evening of bowling and laser tag. The trip wrapped up Saturday morning at the American Degree ceremony.

The district's Master Facilities Plan includes a new band room at the high school. The sketch shows the proposed space, which would create a new, larger space for the growing program. Our band program currently includes around 180 students in grades 6 through 12.

Our Junior High Hope Squad celebrated Unity Day yesterday at LHS! Jr. High students received orange bracelets and orange candy, signed our End Bullying sign, and many showed their support by wearing orange.
Unity Day, started by PACER's National Bullying Prevention Center in 2011, is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month. It's a day to send a visible message of building community through kindness, acceptance, and inclusion by wearing orange.

Our Hope Squad hid 200 positive pumpkins around campus yesterday for Harvesting Hope!

We are excited to announce that Jason VanSickle has been named Head Baseball Coach at Loudonville High School.
Coach VanSickle is a 1993 Loudonville High School graduate and former Redbird baseball player. He has spent more than 25 years coaching, including more than 20 years in youth and travel baseball, where he developed players from their first seasons through advanced travel competition. At Loudonville High School, he has coached JV baseball and eight seasons of softball.
His philosophy is simple: build better people, and better athletes will follow. Coach VanSickle puts a strong emphasis on fundamentals, academics, accountability, and community involvement, and he believes great programs are built from the bottom up, with youth and high school programs working together.
