Lettie wants to give a big shoutout to Sam Sly for always being there with advice, whether it was about school, sports, or personal goals. If there were a play about Lettie’s life, Mr. Lemke would take center stage.

Get to know Summerlee, a freshman at LHS who’s involved in Student Council, FFA, Soccer, Basketball, and Hope Squad! Summerlee joined Hope Squad because she wanted to be someone her peers could trust to turn to for help or just to talk.

Summerlee hopes Hope Squad will help students realize that there are always peers at LHS who are ready to listen. To anyone going through a hard time, Summerlee says to “Remember that there is always a way forward, even when it doesn’t feel like it, and that you truly matter.”

Meet Elaina, a sophomore at LHS who’s involved in Volleyball, Track & Field, and Hope Squad!

Elaina joined Hope Squad because she wants to make a positive difference at LHS. To her, being part of Hope Squad means supporting mental health and creating meaningful change for students. Her advice to anyone who is struggling is to talk with someone you trust and focus on making each day a little better than the last, which can lead to a healthier mindset.

The High School Hope Squad is excited to announce that the Squad Shop is now open at LHS! This free clothing and school supply store is available to all students, thanks to generous donations from our community.

Everything in the Squad Shop is completely free and open to any student who is interested or in need. Our goal is to support students and help everyone feel confident and prepared for school.

Students who would like to shop can simply email Ms. Sammie Thiemens to set up a time to visit.

Kindergarten registration for the 2026-27 school year is now open!

Follow these steps to get started! Please note, your child must turn 5 on or before Aug. 18, 2026, to enter kindergarten.
1. Complete Final Forms for 2026-27.
2. Schedule an appointment with Tia Bowman at 419-994-3912 (option 4).

Bring these to your appointment:
Child's birth certificate
Child's immunization record
Your state ID/driver’s license
Proof of residency
Custody/adoption docs (if applicable)
A physical exam is also required.

Ruth joined Hope Squad because she wants to help make LHS a place where everyone feels welcome and supported, and she hopes Hope Squad will create an environment where students feel comfortable being themselves without fear of judgment. For anyone struggling, she encourages them to “Remember that no matter what you’re going through, there is always someone willing to listen.”
