Students at McMullen Elementary are learning essential life skills through the “Too Good for Drugs” program, a partnership with the Ashland County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (ACCADA). Led by Prevention Educator Wendy Lemon, OCPA (Ohio Crime Prevention Association), the program equips children with the tools needed to make healthy decisions, build confidence, and develop positive habits.

This fall, Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village Schools is taking a meaningful step to support students’ mental health and well-being by introducing The Hope Squad. Designed for students in grades 4-12, the program will focus on fostering genuine connections, encouraging kindness, and creating a safe space for students to speak up, especially when it comes to bullying and suicide prevention.

This nationally recognized program, developed in response to growing concerns about bullying and student mental health, is an evidence-based, peer-to-peer suicide prevention program built on the power of connection. The program is part of the Suicide Prevention Resource Center’s Best Practice Registry, confirming its effectiveness and alignment with current expert guidance. Here’s an important bus safety reminder for drivers! On roads with fewer than four lanes, all traffic in both directions must come to a complete stop when a school bus is stopped. You may only proceed once the bus starts moving again or the driver signals it’s safe to do so.

7th Grade Orientation is Monday, August 12, from 10:00-11:30 AM at LHS. All incoming 7th grade students are encouraged to attend! Students will meet their teachers, tour the campus, receive their class schedule, and practice their locker combination. Lunch will be provided.
