Several changes differentiate this proposal from the previous one. The addition of a 0.25% income tax is projected to generate $4 million, while the property tax millage has been reduced from 10.243 mills to 6.62 mills, representing a $12.5 million reduction to the overall cost. The plan also removes certain features, such as the metal roof, rubberized playground, and administrative building renovations, from the overall Master Facilities Plan. Congratulations to C.E. Budd Elementary School for receiving the Momentum Award from the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce! This recognition is a testament to the school’s commitment to providing exceptional educational opportunities and ensuring every student can thrive. Thanks to the dedication of our staff, the support of families, and the hard work of our students, Budd achieved remarkable academic growth on the 2023-2024 Ohio School Report Card. The Momentum Award is given to schools and districts that improve their Performance Index by three or more points from the previous year while earning a Value-Added progress rating of at least four stars. The Performance Index measures overall student achievement across state assessments, reflecting how well students perform on standardized tests. A three-point increase indicates a meaningful improvement in overall academic performance. Value-Added measures student growth over time, assessing whether students make expected progress within a school year. A four-star or higher rating means students achieve more than a year’s academic growth.

At the end of January, the boys basketball team honored those who have served in our military during their game against Danville. Special thanks to American Legion 257 and Perrysville VFW Post 8586 for assisting with the presentation of colors—it was a truly moving moment that reminded us of the sacrifices made by so many. We’re grateful to our military members, past and present, for their courage and service.

The Loudonville-Perrysville Board of Education has placed a bond and income tax levy on the May 6, 2025 ballot to fund the implementation of a revised Master Facilities Plan. This updated plan retains a PreK-12 building design on the current high school campus while reducing costs through adjustments such as the removal of a metal roof ($2.3 million), rubberized playground ($250,000), and administrative building renovations ($420,000). With these changes and additional district contributions, the local share of the project has been reduced by $12.5 million compared to the November 2024 bond issue.
