Students in Ms. Hauger's class have been on an exciting journey into the world of measurement, where they've discovered that you don't always need a ruler to measure length! Using their creativity and imagination, they've been using the non-standard unit of yarn to compare the length of classmates.
Through this hands-on experience, our students have not only strengthened their understanding of measurement but also learned to think outside the box. They've realized that there are multiple ways to measure the same object and that precision and accuracy are key.
Students worked as a team to measure and hung their yarn in the hallway to show their understanding of comparing lengths! 🌟This week students in Mrs. Saldana's room read a poem about a girl who likes to daydream called "Narcissa." Students were challenged to use their Lego kits to "build a model to represent" (BAMTR) something they have daydreamed about. Students had 30 minutes to build and then did a 10 minute quick write about their build. Great job Redbirds!!! 🎓🚀
We had some exciting learning happening in Mrs. Pollard's classroom after school: Our first Tech Thursday! 💻McMullen Staff shared how they are currently using technology well, explored the Read&Write Chrome extension to see how it could potentially be used in their classrooms, and discussed what they'd like to learn about technology at future sessions to best serve our Redbird learners!
