2nd Grade students prepared for their field trip to the Cleveland Zoo by researching and writing about habitats in small groups. Students then within their small groups, chose an animal to research from their habitat. After the research and writing portion of this project, all 2nd grade students were grouped based on the habitat they studied, one habitat in each 2nd grade classrooms. There, students collaborated to plan and design a habitat mural, putting together their expertise from their research. Text features such as labels and captions were also added to their murals to showcase their work and learning. Students were proud of their murals, collaborated beautifully, and we all had fun working together!

📏✨ Exploring Measurement Magic! 📏✨
Students in Ms. Hauger's class have been on an exciting journey into the world of measurement, where they've discovered that you don't always need a ruler to measure length! Using their creativity and imagination, they've been using the non-standard unit of yarn to compare the length of classmates.
Through this hands-on experience, our students have not only strengthened their understanding of measurement but also learned to think outside the box. They've realized that there are multiple ways to measure the same object and that precision and accuracy are key.
Students worked as a team to measure and hung their yarn in the hallway to show their understanding of comparing lengths! Join us in celebrating their measurement adventures and encourage them to keep exploring the world around them with curiosity and wonder. 🌟 #MeasurementMagic #HandsOnLearning #CreativeThinking

🌟This week students in Mrs. Saldana's room read a poem about a girl who likes to daydream called "Narcissa." Students were challenged to use their Lego kits to "build a model to represent" (BAMTR) something they have daydreamed about. Students had 30 minutes to build and then did a 10 minute quick write about their build. Great job Redbirds!!! 🎓🚀
