On July 8, the Loudonville-Perrysville Board of Education voted to place a bond issue on the Nov. 5, 2024, ballot in order to carry out the district’s Master Facilities Plan. If this issue is approved by voters, the total project will cost approximately $71,217,623, with the community portion amounting to $53,500,000. The district will receive 29% in state funding through the Ohio Facilities Construction Commission ($15,681,130), and the district will contribute $2,036,493 to the project.
The cost to taxpayers would be approximately $29.92 per month (or $0.98 a day) per $100K of county auditor market value.
The cost to taxpayers has recently been revised after the County Auditor certified the millage and property value of the district. Originally, millage was estimated at 10.37 (costing taxpayers $30.25 per month per $100k). With the required board resolutions and certification of the millage and property value of the district, the millage amount was adjusted slightly to be 10.243 mills. This is the millage amount that will be on the ballot in November 2024.

During the July 8 Board of Education meeting, the Loudonville-Perrysville Exempted Village School District Board of Education approved a Resolution to Proceed with a bond issue. This resolution, now certified to the Board of Elections, marks a significant milestone in the district’s master facilities planning efforts.
The $53,500,000 bond issue is set to appear on the November 5, 2024 ballot. If passed, the funds will support the construction of a new PK-12 building, ensuring accessible and safe learning environments for all students. The decision follows a thorough and inclusive process that engaged the community through surveys and focus groups, identifying the critical need to address the aging school buildings.

Our sixth graders traveled to the nearby Round Lake Camp on May 9-10 for an outdoor education experience. The students participated in different activities, including fishing, birding, a pond study, canoeing, team building, a campfire, relay races, a silent disco and a leadership talk. Even though there were constant rain showers on the first day, our sixth graders persevered through the activities and rounded out the trip with great weather on day two.
