Loudonville High School has a refreshed lobby space! With the help of the Loudonville-Perrysville School Foundation, LHS purchased a large-screen monitor, new chairs and lettering to signify the “Redbird Champions” hallway. This area is designated as a space for our parents, visitors and guests as they wait for a meeting or an appointment with a staff member. However, the space also houses a trophy case of academic accolades like the history of Redbird Valedictorians, National Honor Society Members and yearbooks. Additionally, every month, student profiles and pictures nominated as our Redbird Champions will be highlighted in this hallway. In October, McMullen and Budd Elementary Schools focused on developing the R-Factor skill, "Press Pause." Each morning, Budd Elementary dedicates time to have "What's Up?" meetings where skills - like "Press Pause" - are taught and recognized. Every week begins with “What’s Up? Monday,” where the whole school gathers in the auditorium. Here, students learn the “R Factor” skill of the week, such as “Press Pause,” which encourages reflection before reacting. Midweek, each grade level has its “What’s Up?” day. Fourth-grade students lead on “What’s Up? Tuesday,” fifth-grade students on “What’s Up? Wednesday” and sixth-grade students on “What’s Up? Thursday.” These days include student recognition and student-led discussions and activities related to the “R Factor.” Read the most recent LPEVSD newsletter here: https://www.lpschools.k12.oh.us/page/newsletters
